Marvel Avengers: Endgame New Official Trailer

“Whatever it takes”, the tag line for the new Endgame trailer really adds emphasis on the desperate situation.

WARNING: Spoilers for Avengers Infinity war

Unless you have been living under a rock, you should by now have seen the last Avengers film. Even my grandmother knows that the fate of half the universe seemingly hangs in the balance. Are they all gone for good? Will the remaining heroes be able to undo the power of the infinity gauntlet and return everyone from the dust?

The previous teaser showed us a tired looking Tony Stark, seemingly recording a love letter to Pepper Potts before the air runs out on the powerless spaceship of which we find him adrift.

The new trailer shows all the original avengers having survived ‘the snap’ plus a few more additions that have joined along the way. The aesthetics of the trailer crank up the nostalgia, as it flashes back to moments from the previous Marvel films from over the last decade, leading us up to this moment.

With the recent release of Captain Marvel, we are ever closer to “Endgame” and finishing the 10 year story arc that kicked off with the very first Ironman film back in 2008. There has been 22 movies in total combined to give us one epic journey of laughter and tears, entertaining fans of all ages.

Although this is just the end of ‘Phase 3’ for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, actor contracts are coming to an end. A whole plethora of new heroes are ready to take Marvel into phase 4 (beginning with ‘Spiderman: Far from home’, due to release July 2019), so this may be the last we see of some of the heroes we have come to know and love. It is unclear whether Robert Downey Jr is renewing his contract and Chris Evans had stated on Twitter how emotions were running high as filming drew to a close.

Chris Evans is supposed to have said at an event later that, “regardless of how Avengers 4 ends, I would have tweeted the exact same thing. That last day of filming was a very emotional day and it was the culmination of almost 10 years of filming and 22 movies, this unbelievable tapestry”. Even the Russo brothers who direct the film have remarked that Chris Evans is not yet done with the MCU, but what exactly this means is uncertain.

The only thing we can be sure of going into Endgame is as Tony Stark says, “Part of the journey…is the end”.

We don’t have long to wait to find out the fate of Tony and the rest of the Avengers.
The Avengers: Endgame releases on 26th of April 2019.

Will our heroes save the day?
